A Message From Chelsea Clemetson
Thanks so much for considering donating to our forum's goal of providing 21,000 meals this Thanksgiving. I know that the history of thanksgiving hasn't always had positive implications with how it damaged cultures. And celebration of Thanksgiving at Community has had its own problematic history. But I'd like to uphold the tradition of using Thanksgiving to do something kind for other people, to uplift spirits and give others things to truly be thankful for. I hope this inspires as many people as possible to think about their actions and reflect on what they do for people.
In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
