- Community High Fights Hunger 2021
- Whiteside Forum
Food Gatherers is the food bank and food rescue serving Washtenaw County. Every fall, Community High School students join together and raise funds to help provide food to our neighbors who rely on local emergency pantries, meal programs and other distributions of healthy food to feed themselves and their families.
While life for many of us is returning to "normal" -- in-person school, stores and restaurants open, widespread vaccination -- food insecurity in our community is still much higher than prior to the pandemic, and is expected to remain high for another 18-24 months. Thanks to the support of friends and neighbors like you, Food Gatherers will continue to meet the need throughout this recovery and beyond.
Donations made to Community High School's campaign will provide healthy food to children, families, adults, and seniors in our community, and thanks to a generous matching pledge from the Harold and Kay Peplau Family Fund, your donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000.
To give now, click on DONATE. Or, if you prefer, you can call us to donate at 734-761-2796 (press option 2), or send a check made out to Food Gatherers (please write "Community High" in the memo line so your gift will be matched) to P.O. Box 131037, Ann Arbor, MI 48113.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
