Ameriprise National Day of Service is Friday, November 4, 2022.
Since 2010, the Ameriprise National Day of Service has brought employees, advisors, and clients together to help end hunger in our communities. Did you know that hunger exists in every county in every state in the United States? In fact, prior to COVID-19, 37 million people (1 in 9 people) in the U.S. struggled with hunger. The economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a significant impact on the demand for food resources here in Washtenaw County. In the first six months of the pandemic, child food insecurity in our community doubled; today the rate is decreasing, but still remains 12% higher than before the pandemic. Now, more of our neighbors, friends, and co-workers are relying on Food Gatherers, Washtenaw county's only food bank and food rescue program, to feed themselves and their families, and raising funds allows Food Gatherers to distribute more food in our community. As many of us are feeling the strain of increased prices, these stressors are compounded for families who experience food insecurity. Your support enables Food Gatherers’ network of food pantries and grocery distributions throughout Washtenaw County to meet these new challenges head-on and continue to be a critical resource for families and children in our community.
Ameriprise is committed to helping our community by hosting a giving drive for the month of November 2022

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
