A Message From The Bentley Historical Library is Rockin' for the Hungry!
The Bentley Historical Library, joining with 107one and the Kroger Stores for Rockin' for the Hungry, has raised ONE MILLION MEALS for hungry people in our area. Food Gatherers is the Food Bank and Food Rescue Program serving Washtenaw County. We're raising funds to help Food Gatherers feed the 44,500 people in our area that rely on local emergency pantries, meal programs and other distributions of healthy food to feed themselves and their families. Donations made to Food Gatherers through Rockin' for the Hungry are tax deductible!
Help the Bentley Historical Library feed our Community! Food Gatherers serves the equivalent of 14,000 meals every day in Washtenaw County, where 1 in 7 people are food-insecure. Food Gatherers is committed to healthy eating: 60% of food distributed is protein or fresh produce.
Food Gatherers is committed to reducing waste: last year, around 40% of the 6.4 million pounds of food distributed was rescued food from local food businesses, which otherwise would have ended up in landfills.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
