A Message From Logan Leopards

Hunger is real in our County. Last year, Food Gatherers distributed food to 60,000 individuals in Washtenaw County. This totaled more than 10.3 million pounds of food, or more than 23,000 meals every day. The goal of the Rotary Fights Child Hunger food drive is to gather food and funds to provide 100,000 meals. Food and funds collected during the Rotary drive will help ensure that children living in our community have the food they need to grow healthy and strong. The meals raised will be available to families through Food Gatherers’ network of 140 partners and programs, including the Summer Food Service Program providing meals for children in the summer and the Healthy School Pantry Program distributing free produce and groceries at local schools. An important note: This drive will collect food and financial donations. Food donations are wonderful and appreciated. However, raising funds allows Food Gatherers to use its bulk buying power to distribute more food in our community, and this is our primary focus. How Can You Help? • Financial donations (cash, check, credit card, Pay Pal) allow Food Gatherers to purchase needed food at bulk rates, getting more pounds of food per dollar than your purchase in the grocery store. This year, gifts of $25 or more made through the Rotary Fights Child Hunger food drive will be matched!

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
