A Message From Jade Polasek
I really care about people and I don't want anyone to have to feel the fear of not knowing when they are getting a healthy or filling or tasty meal next, I have had people that I care about go through things and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. additionally if there is a family struggling, and they have a child who is autistic like me or has ARFID(avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) like a family member of mine, and they aren't able to get their safe foods, that can be life threatening because if they physically cant eat some things then their options are even more limited which can lead to the need for hospitalization which is expensive. this campaign helps community high-school students join together and raise funds to help provide healthy food to people in our community who are facing hunger.
In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
