A Message From Jessica Rothstein

Hi! Would you please join me in supporting my local community by donating to Food Gatherers? Coming together to support the local community is very important to me and Food Gatherers is an important way to do that. Food Gatherers supports so many people and organizations in Washtenaw County (my home county!) to make sure that everyone here can get access to healthy and nourishing food. I believe that it is crucial in a community to allow everyone the stability to know where their next meal is coming from. I've known about Food Gatherers since my eighth birthday when I decided that, instead of presents, I would ask each guest to bring a can of food to donate. I am still so inspired today by how much of a difference Food Gathers makes in our community, much of it by volunteers from the goodness in their hearts. Food Gatherers provides millions of essential meals to the community every year and the fundraiser at Community High School is a huge part of that. Please consider donating to help them with their mission to support everyone in Washtenaw County. I know it's cliché, but seriously, every little bit matters. $1 provides two meals, and because of generous donors, every dollar that Community raises for Food Gatherers is getting matched. So if you donate $1, four meals will be provided, and that will make a huge difference. Keep spreading love and light! Jess Rothstein

Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
