A Message From Isobel Roosevelt
I am writing because my school is raising money for an amazing local organization called Food Gatherers. Food Gatherers provides more than 6.4 million pounds of food to pantries and food-insecure people throughout Washtenaw County through reclaiming surplus food from restaurants and grocery stores that would otherwise go to waste. Their model keeps food from filling our landfills by having it fill the stomachs of those who need instead.
Every dollar spent equals three meals for families in need in Washtenaw County during the winter holiday. Further donations are tax deductible.
If you are interested, go to foodgatherers.org/communityhigh, scroll down, and click on the “Matt Johnson” forum. Then click on the donate button.
Thanks!

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
