  • The COVID-19 pandemic has had an immediate, deep, and lasting impact on food insecurity in our community. Michigan Medicine is raising funds to help feed families, children, individuals, and seniors in our community. Please join us today by making a donation of any size to support your neighbors facing hunger. All donations benefit Food Gatherers, the food bank and food rescue program serving Washtenaw County for more than 30 years.

With your support, Food Gatherers’ network of food pantries and grocery distributions throughout Washtenaw County will continue to be a critical resource for families and children who are experiencing food insecurity. Having access to healthy and nutritious food is imperative for kids to have the proper energy needed to learn and enjoy life.

There will be an in-person drop-off point for food and toiletries ( March 26th – April 10th) at Dock 90 of the North Campus Research Complex (2800 Plymouth Rd.) just off Huron Parkway. However instead of shopping for bags of food to drop off, please consider making a monetary donation and have Food Gatherers do the shopping for you. With their bulk purchasing power, they can really make your dollar stretch!

To make a donation please click on DONATE NOW or if you prefer, you may also give by calling 734-761-2796 or mail a check (made out to Food Gatherers with "Michigan Medicine" on the memo line) to PO Box 131037, Ann Arbor, MI 48113.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
