Right now in Washtenaw County, 1 in 7 people are experiencing food insecurity, meaning they don't have reliable access to enough nutritious food for a healthy life. As your local food bank, Food Gatherers supplies 10 million pounds of food annually to a network of 140 food pantries and meal programs. Generous gifts from community members like you, allow us to provide nutritious meals for 60,000 individuals and families who are having trouble making ends meet.
With the high costs of living right now, people's budgets are being stretched thinner and thinner. But with your support, we can ensure our community is well fed. And when our neighbors are fed, they can allocate their resources to other essentials, like rent, gas, and their medical needs, helping to ease some of that financial stress.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
