TeaHaus of Ann Arbor is at the heart of the Kerrytown’s neighborhood, a gathering space that buzzes with conversations, comfort, and connections. Like a beehive, it is built through many small acts of presence. Each person who enters adds to its warmth, its rhythm, and its sense of belonging. TeaHaus is actively helping the community through Free Meal Program!
Artists for Community Exhibits and the TeaHaus invited the community to create work that honors this shared space using provided hexagon-shaped wooden forms. These hexagons echo the structure of a honeycomb, where each individual cell contributes to a larger living system. Community is formed in how we sit together, the sharing of stories across the sofa, returning faces, and the quiet rituals that invite people to slow down and be with one another. Over time, these repeated gestures create a network of care that is intimate and collective. Artists were invited to explore themes such as gathering and conversation, tea culture, teamwork, nature, the TeaHaus as a place of refuge and connection. Submitted artwork became part of a collective installation celebrating how this community is formed.
All artwork will be priced at $30 (or more if interested) and will be up for sale on September 24, between 6-8pm and proceeds will support FOOD GATHERERS COMMUNITY KITCHEN!
You can view the exhibition September 1-October 18, 2026.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
