With SNAP and WIC benefits at risk, the cost of living continuing to rise at rates that are outpacing incomes for many, and holidays on the horizon, let's come together to support our local Washtenaw communities in navigating this difficult time.
Financial donations go further as Food Gatherers is able to purchase foods that aren't able to be donated such as perishable items at wholesale prices. We will also be collecting non-perishable items at 2675 Powell Avenue so you can contribute however feels best for you. Please email Kait Farrell to set up a time to drop off a donation.
Food Gatherers is proud to partner with more than 140 non-profit agencies and programs in Washtenaw County providing direct food assistance in the form of emergency groceries, hot meals, and nutritious snacks to low-income adults, children, seniors, and veterans in Washtenaw County.
In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
