  • Food Gatherers is here to help provide nutritious food for any individuals and families in our community who need it.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced that SNAP benefits will not be distributed in November. The suspension of benefits is due to the federal government shutdown and a delay in distribution of funds.

In response, Food Gatherers is purchasing more food and increasing distributions in November to help people in our community impacted by the delayed payment of SNAP benefits. We will share additional information about resources as it is available.

Help fill our trucks with additional emergency food and make a donation today!

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
