Ann Arbor Indivisible would like to support the people in our community who are experiencing heightened food insecurity, due to federal budget cuts to food programs and high costs of food and living. This loss of food security is on the rise everywhere, including in Washtenaw County, where one in seven residents have recently been shown to not have access to enough nutritious food. We would like to support Food Gatherers, the largest food bank and food rescue program serving our county, who is also facing budget cuts along with a rise in food costs, in their efforts to support the community.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
