  • In addition to recent federal cuts that have set food banks back, Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap data proves that food insecurity has risen in Washtenaw County. To feed more neighbors and replace the nutrient-rich food sources that were cut, Food Gatherers is purchasing more food than ever, at significantly higher costs.

That's not all. The recently passed federal budget bill includes nearly $200 million in cuts to SNAP and will eliminate the equivalent of around 6 billion meals each year based on preliminary estimates.

We're calling on your support to help fill the gap. Your donation makes an immediate difference in the lives of our neighbors who don't have reliable access to the healthy food we all need to thrive.

Food Gatherers provides nutritious food through a network of 140 partner pantries and meal programs. To promote health and well-being in our community, 60% of the food we distribute is produce or high-protein food.

To help meet the increased need, donate now to provide nourishing food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
