  3. U-M Bentley Historical Library Fights Hunger 2024
  • The cost of food in 2024 is 28% higher than it was in 2019. As many of us are feeling the strain of increased prices, these stressors are compounded for families who experience food insecurity.

UM Bentley Historical Library is raising funds
to help feed our community's families, children, individuals, and seniors. All donations benefit Food Gatherers, the largest anti-hunger non-profit serving Washtenaw County for more than 30 years. With their bulk purchasing power, they can really make your dollar stretch. ($1 = 2 meals!)

This year, thanks to a generous gift from the Harold & Kay Peplau Fund and Rockin' for the Hungry sponsors your donations will be matched dollar for dollar from December 3rd through December 7th!
With the match your donation provides even more meals for neighbors in our community.

    $10 = 20 meals 40 meals
    $25 = 50 meals 100 meals
    $50 = 100 meals 200 meals
    $100 = 200 meals 400 meals

Food Gatherers is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and donations made to this campaign may be tax-deductible.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
