As many of us are feeling the strain of increased prices, these stressors are compounded for families who experience food insecurity. This holiday season, the University of Michigan Materials Science and Engineering is raising funds and hosting a food drive to help feed our community's families, children, individuals, and seniors. All donations benefit Food Gatherers, the food bank and food rescue program serving Washtenaw County for more than 30 years. Your donation of non-perishable food items in the collection bins in HH DOW (MSE Main Office Room 3074B or the 2nd-floor MSE Lounge) is greatly appreciated!
Please also consider making a monetary donation and let Food Gatherers do the shopping for you! With their bulk purchasing power, they can really make your dollar stretch. ($1 = 3 meals!)
Last year we managed to raise $1,583 and collect 65 lbs of food. Let's try to beat it!
To make a donation please click on DONATE or if you prefer, you may also give by calling 734-761-2796 or mailing a check (made out to Food Gatherers with "MSE" on the memo line) to PO Box 131037, Ann Arbor, MI 48113.
Thank you for your generosity!
In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.
We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
