Update May 8, 2020: The match for this campaign has ended, but donations are still being accepted.

We are excited to announce that all new donations in support of COVID-19 relief efforts will be matched, thanks to generous community supporters.

Ann Arbor Troop 4 Boy Scouts have been participating in an annual food drive for many years as part of their commitment to the Scout Promise to “help other people at all times.” For the past 15 years they have averaged at least a literal ton of food, collected for the Tim Esch Scouting for Food Birthday Party in honor of Eagle Scout Tim Esch, who was top collector for several years before his tragic death in an auto accident at age 18 in 2005. Due to the current health crisis, the Scouts are asking friends, neighbors and family to contribute monetary rather than food donations to Food Gatherers via this online site or by calling 734-761-2796 (be sure to mention this fundraiser when you call to ensure your gift is matched). This annual drive is an opportunity for the Scouts to learn about the needs of their community, the many different ways Food Gatherers works with partner organizations to distribute food, and the power of working together to accomplish great things. Thank you for supporting Scouting For Food, which will provide healthy food and hope to the many people who need help, especially in these troubled times.

In Support of Food Gatherers
Our Mission: Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community.

We rescue local food and leverage state and national food resources for hunger relief. We lead a network of hunger relief providers and engage the public in the fight against hunger. We create and sustain innovative new food programs in response to emerging needs. We recognize that hunger will not be solved through the provision of food alone, so we advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.
