U-M Tech Transfer and Business Engagement Center team members plan to hold an annual food drive during the summer months to help feed children who do not have access to their school lunch programs.
Food Gatherers is an organization that has served the Washtenaw County community to alleviate hunger and its causes in our community for 25 years.
Both food and money donations are valuable in the fight to eliminate hunger. Donated food allows food banks to offer clients a variety of items while cash donations allow them to purchase items with buying power. Example, a $55 donation, the Food Bank can buy up to $154 worth of food at a local grocery store.
The Food Bank needs nutritious, non-perishable foods such as canned meals with pop-top lids (such as stews and tuna), peanut butter, canned vegetables and cereal or rice.
