Rotary Fights Summer Hunger 2020

Rotary Fights Summer Hunger 2020

About This Campaign

The Rotary Fights Summer Hunger food drive, held March 9 - 20, 2020 is a critical source of food for families with children who depend on free/reduced-price breakfast and lunch programs during the school year. When school is out for summer, many low-income families scramble to replace these meals. The food collected during the Rotary food drive will help ensure that the children in these families have the food they need to grow healthy and strong.

The goal of the Rotary Fights Summer Hunger food drive is to gather food and funds to provide 90,000 meals this summer. This food will be available to children and families through Food Gatherers’ network of 170 partner programs, including more than 35 Summer Food Service Program sites serving children two meals daily and providing fun summer activities and nutrition education.

Our hard-working committee will deploy over 150 collection boxes at various locations throughout Washtenaw County. Once again, all cash donations  of $25 of more received during the drive will be matched dollar for dollar through generous community supporters. To make a tax-deductible cash donations, click on the DONATE button now, or bring a check to the Rotary Shares table. Please give generously to this very important project!

During this drive, Food Gatherers is able to maximize your gift:

$10 = 30 meals
$25 = 75 meals  150 meals!
$50 = 15 meals  300 meals!
$100 = 300 meals  600 meals!
